I get the impression Ms. Wetcheeks is rather ambivalent about the prospect of a child, at best. Then again in her place I probably would be too, given the way things turned out and that nobody expected it to be possible.
Which of course makes me point out that Westersloe would hardly have fouled the whole thing up if he hadn't been transmogrified when the venery took place, but then of course he didn't know it was possible to sire in those forms at the time, so once again hindsight is perfect and the present is cloudy.
Also, I like the inclusion of a Seventh of His Name, it really gives us the sense that there's significant time passing not only in the stories themselves, but that it's taken quite some time to tell the stories. I think the last time there was mention of the Sixth and anything involving women it was only that he seemed to share his great-grandfather's charming ways.
