I do want to do I hyena version, but the trick for me is the proper nose.

What would compliment this is if the wearer used black makeup around the eyes/face/cheek area, so only the eyes were visible - would look impressive I feel....

I think that would as well. I'm also pondering adding an insert that allows for an eye shape that could be customized for the wearer...and mood.
Not to mention I really need to make one without eyes all together and one with dark lenses that hide the eyes altogether.

Do I go with flat lenses or something carved and harvested from sunglasses? Creation is such fun.

If you could find something more slightly rounded, so that they emulated lie a kind of "bug eye" effect, so to speak, that would probably look the best....

Outstanding job! I've seen several efforts in this direction. There just aren't enough leatherish types out there, IMHO...A lot of the artists who draw such things clearly haven't ever been there (particularly obvious in contorted, bound, or suspension art where 'uh, that wouldn't work that way' stands out to the practiced eye). Nice to see your work goes beyond paper.

P.S. Nice to see rustedtusks back. Sorry to hear about the problems, but I figured since you were posting here during the 'downtime' that you weren't roadkill or storming out of the fandom in a huffing hissyfit due to the Usual Drama, as all too many have done.

You know...I've been on the net since 1993 or so and a long time ago made a simple decision about when and if I ever leave someplace.

I won't post about why I'm leaving and how terrible things are. I'll just...leave. There have been online communities over the past 15 years that I just walked away from. On the other hand, with something as big as SLOP, when that runs its course, there'll be a message saying so and the archives will be up for everyone. No muss, no fuss, no drama.

I'm a boar of all trades and a pig of many predilections. And I often see those same kind of things you see in the art of people who just haven't the experience the thing they're trying to draw.

For different sized heads I scale the template up or down. So I would need measurements figure out how much to enlarge or reduce the template.

Two things make it stiff. One is the thickness of the leather. The other is the structure itself. I'm glad you like it.
