It's from an early take; they had to keep reshooting the scene as his actor would improvise and get a bit carried away. Eventually the director reigned him in as they were running low on spare bunnies, but by that point he'd gained more weight than he could reasonably lose in the time avalible. To maintain the filming schedule, they just went with it and used CGI to fatten him up in the scenes they'd shot before this one.
