Firstly, nicely done! I really enjoyed it. I likethe art style and how you draw the characters. Love the orginal script tie in.
One thing is bothering me though. I feel like there was a panel or something missing between pages 4 and 5. In 3rd to last panel in page 4, it sounded like Nick was going to mention what happened to Judy after they fell from the waterfall. But then on the next page he jumps straight to into talking about waking up in bunnyburrow.
Did I misinterpret that?

ALL MY CRYING AND SATISFACTION
I don't know if you aimed for them to be in that place between having a really good friend and someone you just feel happy-lovey for without it being romantic, but that's where I am with this comic. And honestly wherever you were aiming, wherever I should be with it, I'd be really happy there. Good on Nick and Judy, and on you for making this. :'}

You captured their emotions and told a mature story about fear, seeking help in the warmth of a friend, and did it all without breaking character. Absolutely beautiful.
I hope Disney sees this; what you did is worthy of recognition from the folk who brought us the original!
Thank you!

I LOVED THIS COMIC! Like....really loved this comic!
I felt unnerved when I ready about what Zootopia COULD have been. I never really liked the darker tone and I am so appreciative of what it really is. This comic gave me a spin on it being just a dream, and it was so cute to see how it worked out here.
Thank you for doing this!

I refrained from commenting with more than just one-liners until the comic was over, waiting to see it in full. Amazing work, as has been said. Zootopia plot bunnies have been rampaging through my own head ever since seeing the film, and I think this is about the most perfect little nugget of an idea for a fanfic from that movie that anyone could have come up with, touching upon so much of that world and those characters in such a short span of words and images. The ideal premise for a seven-pager, and your artistry only sweetens the deal. There are already a ton of Zootopia fanfics out there, with no doubt countless more on the way, but I doubt any will surpass your effort here. Thank you for doing this, and for sharing it with us.
Very solid ending to the comic. I like the low key nature of it and Nick hugging that pillow is really sweet. Nick in the third panel with that confident smirk back on his muzzle was a really nice touch. Clearly talking to his best friend has recentered him, which is what friends can do, and its really sweet. Again I love how you caught there characters and played with the concept. I really love that they had this discussion of rejected plot elements. It is all incredibly sweet and well done.
I'd love to see you play with this world more but I will also understand if you never do. Either way thank you for taking us on this little excursion.

Such a sweet and wonderful comic! Thank you so very much. I am so going to let myself believe that he's hugging his "Judy" pillow stand in. I love both of them so much, as friends, as partners, as something more, if they wanted. :)
Rick you're super awesome for drawing this!

Such a sweet and touching comic! The way it was written and done shows how you really stayed true to the material and atmosphere of the movie.
This page and the one before it are especially cute. The way you draw Nick makes him look so fluffy and have such plush fur.

I loved the whole comic but this page in particular got to me. One way I think you could read the movie is that Nick has PTSD from being victimized as a kid and if he does, he probably wakes up thanks to nightmares a lot, so the idea that he has someone to go to when that happens is just really, really appealing.
I really must express my utmost gratitude towards your generous hospitality. For you have seemingly without effort embedded an abysmal impression and unyielding respect of so many here and most likely in the future. The inexplicably delightful ease you have with personalities and thus expressions of any character has never been flawed in my own opinion. Housepets and this stand alone comic of it's kind is mighty fine examples. You add your personal touch and deliver with a crisp finish. And wrap it up in a witty remark most often then nought. (I tried writing something on my phone earlier but as I checked my spelling on some other tab, all I had written was gone) Thank you again and again for being so kind to share your skills and showing us how you keep up the great work
Have been enjoying this fanfic over the past few days—and we finally got to see Zootopia last night. Now I get to tie it all together with the seventh and final installment (perfect timing!). Your comic has been a perfect addendum to the movie and your use of the original concept as Nick's nightmare was truly inspired. Nicely done. Actually served to enhance a movie that is already a grand-slam homer. ^,^
It is really amazing job.I am a student in China and I really want to show my friends your work, who are also fans of zootopia. But few of them have an FA account. So may I translate your work into Chinese?I have read this comic for over ten times before I could fully understand it ,which can be even harder for my friends.
good times
This lady here dose some awesome Zootopia fan comics (a lot of them are nsfw, but considering the style then I don't find them that porny)
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bernielover/
you'll want to go back 2 or 3 pages in the gallery and start with the earliest zootopia stuff from her first, to make sense of her continuity
I just love how she absolutely nails the expressions on Judy

This is a wonderful mix of art and storytelling. Even more than playing on the original story for Zootopia, I like the way it takes to movie plot towards the "next chapter." The scene in the cruiser where Nick just pops out "You know you love me" to Judy seems about to move the story to a whole new level. Judy's reply is deliciously elliptical, sort of in the same sideways "you're-not-getting-to-me" cool Nick uses, yet it tells him what he's afraid to ask directly ["Do I know that? Yes. Yes, I do." {Translation: "Yeah, I do love you."}]. Your story takes us where the movie stopped. I delight in the flirtatious banter that now passes easily between them. At the same time, you make it gently clear that Judy is the emotionally stronger of the two, that Nick's pains and insecurities still burn deep under that cool, foxy detachment he affects, and that the intensity of caring between them is becoming stronger and more tender. The genius of your art, Rick, is how it stays in character and yet flows naturally from the path set by the movie. As a result, it's all the more funny, touching, and open to the new between what are probably going to become two of Disney's most beloved animal characters.
I expect I would have enjoyed this even if I hadn't yet seen the film. But having seen the film I can appreciate this on so many more levels. As well as superb likenesses of the pair you have really captured the essence of their characters and the chemistry they share. Judy throwing the line about "so emotional" is exactly what she'd do.
