This is I think the crux of your hostitilty about racial tolerance. You think all the minorities in our society are out to get you because you are white. This is far from the truth.

It is ture, you have to face the reality of the history of white racism because you were born to this group and race identity is still important to us... just has how African Americans can face discrimination and be looked upon with suspicion due to their skin they were born in. African americans cannot avoid their lot and you should not avoid yours. The ideal future that people like me work to will have none of these conflicts. But we are not there yet in society, and acknowledging the racist system of the dominant white culture accepting some responsibility to change it is part of the necessary healing process that will elevate the 'others' and lead us to that ideal future. I chose to do this because I felt it important to my core values and that it was the right thing to do to accept and progress than to deny deny deny and resist with a passionate rage. And I am much happier for it, and I do not feel the enemy of those different than me. And those different than me trust me and treat me as an equal. That rally I attended was full of supportive whites along with the black and latino activists and they were very thankful to have us supporting whites along their stuggle.
