The thought crossed my mind. ^^*
I was actually thinking about putting Peach or Rosalina(or even Princess Eclair, or what ever the one he was supposedly rescuing in Thousand Year Door was named...if she even exists) in there, since he actually has expressed some interest in both of them as well, and NEVER Daisy. In the end, though, I decided he'd be looking out for number 1(or number 2, in his case), because whenever he makes any sort of progress he tends to act like an arrogant ass about it, and even goes so far as to leave his younger self behind to dance on top of a Thwomp.
I figure the Peasley thing...I think Luigi thinks he's a girl, and just doesn't listen enough to hear the prince part.

Lol, I think Superstar Saga shouldn't be taken *too* seriously. They certainly had a lot of fun messing with Luigi, but they're not the first to portray Luigi as a wimp or subscribing to some form of alternate lifestyle (usually cross-dressing). SS carried the joke a little far, but I think it might be Nintendo's intention to keep Luigi's preferences kind of ambiguous... As a somewhat confused and clownish character, it makes his antics all the more humorous.
I'm voting bi-curious on this one.

I wouldn't say he's gay. He HAS expressed interest in Peach, and that incredibly bratty quip he gives you after saving him in the Battlerock galaxy makes it seem as if he's trying to impress Rosalina...for some reason.
I think the real reason he's never made googly eyes at Daisy is because he's afraid of her...

Okay, if you want to get TECHNICAL about it, I only have his sheer drooling fanboy squeal for Prince Peasley as evidence. And his domestic tendencies, as evidenced by the fact he makes parfaits. And the fact he has crossdressed at least twice. In peach's dress--AND ADMITTING, though perhaps jokingly after one of such plans went through, that he was just finished getting used to it. (As an aside: Princess peach in Luigi's outfit is ADORABLE. and psycho.)
All that is circumstantial tho.

The fact that Luigi can do a dead-on impression of Peach is pretty disturbing in itself.
Still, the whole Peasley thing is waaaaaay noticable, and frankly, I'm surprised nobody brings it up that often. Meanwhile, Daisy is annoying for one game, and suddenly she's ALWAYS annoying. To be fair, Luigi does fight like a pansy in Smash Bros. I really don't get it, though.
Perhaps he was just too eager to be the hero and wanted to woo the Beanbean "princess" before Mario could, and never caught on that Peasley was a dude.

Well, that's fair. Dude uses so much sheen, he whites out the screen. As for the Big L--I always sorta get the impression Luigi's the kind of guy who's a clown, a goodball, a nut, and a silly person who doesn't get the spotlight... but, when the chips are down and the whole WORLD has its back to the wall, can really, really break out in a way that no one ever expected. There are lots of suggestions Luigi has some sort of big secret, too, which I always found kinda curious... ...as for Peasley being mistaken for a princess, well.. maybe luigi isn't used to men who have no mustache? =\
I wouldn't call Mario a glory hog; it's just that Mario will do stuff while Luigi cowers in fear because he's scared and and has a lack of confidence. Luigi does, however, strike me as the type of person that would never let you forget about anything positive he does. I bet he still brags about Luigi's Mansion and the 4 stars he "helps" you get in Galaxy.
Judging by his actions in the Mario & Luigi games, where he tends to get overtly cocky and full of himself whenever he gets the smallest of praises, I'd say that's a big fat NOPE. Or maybe he just wants us to think he's that way. Whenever he shows his face these days, there always seems to be some negativity involved. But I guess that's just how it is when your body is considered the ideal vessel to contain world-destroying evil.
I REALLY love what you did here in this pic, I don't know if it was intentional but it hit me good...
I love the fact that everyone has the same ideas (as in loving someone) but displays it in different expressions.
Mario is like "sigh.. Peach is just adorible"
Peach is like "oh I hope i see Mario again"
Daisy is like "im so embarrased, but i can't help think about Luigi"
and Luigi... well come on the look say it all "VEIN"
I don't know i could be seeing more into it then what its suppose to be, but really this was done VERY well!!
