I stopped near the bottom of the path when I noticed a faintly flickering light near the cracked remains of the road. Sticks of metal rode out of the ground every fifty yards or so along the road and arched slightly over it. Street lights, if I remembered right. "They still work?" I asked aloud, not caring that nobody was around to hear me. "They look a bit mangled, but how is this one still working?" I shook my head, clearing out some of my fear now that I had something less considerably terrifying to distract me. "Come on Caitlyn, there has to be a simple explanation here. But first, I better check the map again."

My map had updated itself. It showed my local area and marked my current location as 'Route 3'. "How does it know this stuff?!" I was fairly put off by this. I had a map that 'magically' knew the name of everything nearby. It must be using a pre-war database or something. "Let's see... Refuge 25 is in the cave behind me, Mt. Moon Tunnel is east of here. Mt Moon Cave is a little west of here next to..." I paused, reading a new marker that appeared as I moved my map focus to bring said marker into view. "Rapidash Pit Stop? Who names these things?" I scrolled my map westward. "And that way is...Pewter City. I guess I'll check the store first. And I have got to stop talking to myself, its getting weird."
