That's odd. I never ordered a scarf -- and definitely not one so obnoxiously pink. Wait, is this some sort of paint? I can't get it off my hands.

So for those of you who don't know, my shark-fox Vaylute has a problem sticking entirely in this dimension. After a lab 'accident' attempting to transport the fox into a different reality, he's stuck shifting between a rather foxish male (Lut) and a rather sharkish female (Vayne) --though he quite often ends up in the middle as a shemale when he's entangled with his otherworldly counterpart. Being in environments and around objects closely associated to the fox's former life seem to keep him firmly male: outfits, his apartment, Scarlett's safehouses, places Lut was quite familiar. Conversely, the opposite becomes true if he happens to wander near spots or objects Vayne is particularly familiar with from her own reality. He's found ways to cope with it and manage to keep his more feminine side from springing loose all of a sudden, so he doesn't end up tearing his pants and shirt every time someone just happens to draw out his inner shark.
What most folks don't know is that Vayl is also particularly sensitive to contact with objects that carry significant weight with a person in another reality. It could be anything, really -- a wedding ring treasured by a man whose wife passed away, a home that someone in another reality had lived in all their lives, etc. The criteria as to what will set off his sudden alterations is pretty uncertain, but what -is- clear is that being in prolonged contact with such an item will wildly and radically transform the shox as long as he's in its direct presence. It even goes far enough to tweak aspects of his mind, flooding him with memories and the personality of a stranger from a completely different reality.
Now whether someone was aware of this when they sent Vayl this scarf? That's a different mystery.
Vaylute is owned by me.
