Jon: Leandro's birthday is not on May 5 and Cinco de Mayo is not our independence day. September 16 is Mexican Independence Day.
Victoria: Cinco de Mayo actually celebrates our unlikely victory against the French Army way back then in our city of Puebla. People thought the French will control us but we fought them off.
Zax: Then why do we Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
Victoria: That's because Mexican immigrants in America in the 1860s heard about Mexico's victory against the French in Puebla and decided to celebrate the event on American soil as well.
Zachary: And when Americans learned about their celebration, we decided to celebrate with them because we whooped empires too like the Brits back then. More Americans need to realize that Leandro's real birthday is on September 16 not May 5. That's like saying Leo's birthday would be June 14 but that's Flag Day but his real birthday is July 4 which is our Independence Day.
