Carnival of the night was originally to bring about "new life", often in Spring/turn of the season. People would wear bright colours, often adorned in feathers or flowers in celebration. Though you are right- googling it gives you clowns and music.
Which makes me wonder why Confuzzled specified "of the night" and not just a carnival fare where you pick up goldfish and throw balls at targets.

Hmm, the artwork for the con was pretty much " dark carnival". Even the t shirt is Brok in a voodoo-priest out fit. I think that idea of Carnival of the Night is a bit old fashioned, people think actual carnivals... with tents and shit. At night xD
Yeah idk why they didn't just use carnival as a theme. They did a medieval theme a few years back and maybe they felt it was similar?
