Been recently watching a few episodes of Swat Kats and decided to do up a custom VF based of the TurboKat. The trick with this one was trying to come up with a variable frame that looked very close to the original design, so I used some elements from the YF-21 from macross plus as a basis.(the 21's airframe was very similar to the original Turbocat) To give it that old school feel from some of the earlier episodes, I used a computer screen background similar to the data files at the end of the show. anyways, hope you enjoy ^^

http://steelfalcon.com/Macross/va3.shtml hard to say about the VF-3 series....no one I know seems to recall EVER seeing one outside of the internet. o.o
Thats VA-3 no V'F'-3 as you put it. So it's not really a Variable Fighter... Variable Armour? That the term?
Anyway thats from one of the Macross art books and is one of the MANY un-used deisngs. A lot of RP sites like that one you listed tend to use those books for designs along with the Macross table top RPG's. It's either from one of the table top games or an art book.

Both the T-kat and the Valkyries were based off the real-world Amercan 4-14 "Tomcat" fighter-plane, which was just retired last year after some thirty-five years in active duty.
I can see the LEGIOSS (MOSPEDEA'S airplane) influences in the "fighter" mode render. Good work with the mech's head there, as well.
And, protip to some comments here: when your engines can extended down into a GERWALK config, you don't *need* old-fashioned VTOL capacity...

Excellent work!
SWATKats is one of my fav series . . . the real interesting feature to remember when converting the Turbo Kat to variable is that it's ment to be have two pilots instead of just one . . . one for master maneuvering and the other for weapons master. Two minds, one high powered machine.

There is a campaign being organized to see SWAT Kats revived for the new generation; Christian Tremblay, one of the co-creators of the original cartoon, has expressed interest in seeing this done.
