Wow this page is just so full with emotion. It makes you wanna cry but both in a good and bad way. The fact that Gem needs to stay locked up in there for two weeks is a part of the sadness but knowing that Paul will be there for her is what makes it sorta happy at the same time. Id have to say that Gem is truelly lucky to not have to go trough all of that on her own. Speaking from experience being at a mental ward without proper support from family or friends it can make you feel like you have been forgotten or abadoned or that people don't wanna know of you anymore. Thats why Gem is lucky and I know that with Paul by her side she will be able to endure anything that she has to go trough.
Not necessarily. There's at least one case in the U.K. where a psychopathic criminal, serving prison time, attempted to feign mental illness. He was transferred to a psychiatric facility to escape 'prison life.' After a period of time, he contacted and befriended a reporter. He confessed that it was all a gag, with the intent to get him a better life, and that he wasn't crazy at all, and he'd be released back into society through a halfway house or such.
However, the reporter found that the doctors DID have evidence that while he was faking his initial entry into the facility, that in fact, he was mentally ill, and would not be released back into society. So, he got stuck living with a bunch of other crazy people.
Knowing that you sound crazy, and admits the problem, does not mean that there is not some form of mental illness.
Since this is a fictional piece, I'll leave it to our lovely Squigglynx to decide Gem's outcome.

So...I actually punched my girlfriend because of a dream. It was...horrible. I was punching my childhood bully in my dream. I woke up mid swing as I punched my girlfriend, who was laying next to me at the time. One inch higher and I would have nailed her in the throat. Lucky I ONLY got the sternum.
I wish you wellness, happiness and peace and stability in your life. My pistol, actually, two within arms reach right now, is sitting on my hip (the other one on my desk) and due to huge financial issues, I am nearly ready to use one on myself. But, even if I didn't have them, I have medications galore, which I'm sure would be a lethal cocktail, and if not that, then 90mph or so into a bridge abutment always works well. If things would get better, I could get a handle on some of it, but, right now, I'm hanging on by a thread.
In a mental health facility, having family that you care about and trust is so important. Having family that you're not that close to doesn't really seem to matter that much, I'm afraid. My times in the hospital, twice, I had no close family, and it was a lonely, depressing time, especially when I looked at others who were far worse than I was. Someone who cares for you is an amazing healing power. I wish you that person in your life.

Right, this is when a load of furs carrying pistols and briefcases break into the room, lock the door and start setting up a weird box, one of them (who for some strange reasons sounds like Leo dicaprio) explains to her that her family is in danger and she must enter her dreams to save them as they all (including paul) hook up to the machine and enter her mind......BWWWWWAAAAAAAAAMM!!!!
