I couldn't help but paint more Winter Soldier art, so here's this! This one was tough because it isn't a direct study like the previous two, so getting Sebastian Stan's likeness was pretty difficult. I wanted to play off the idea of Hydra having invaded Bucky's mind, and how difficult it is to rip those poisonous tendrils away once they are there. He may feel like he'll never be himself again after what happened to him, but the real him IS there. It's a feeling shared by many real folks who suffer from PTSD, who have to fight this daily.
PTSD can come from many sources, and most people living with it are essentially living with an "invisible illness". Which means it's not immediately obvious to people without it that they may be struggling, which unfortunately leads to many not getting the help they need. I spoke with several acquaintances and friends who live with it themselves, and a friend who's job it is to work with folks out of the military with PTSD before uploading this piece. I wanted to gather some useful resources, and use this piece as a way of gaining some helpful awareness. The following are some of the resources provided to me by those wonderful people!
http://www.psycharmor.org - provides free training on veteran's issues including mental health.
http://www.giftfromwithin.org/ - a place to learn more about PTSD

If you or someone you love have PTSD and wish to share some helpful resources, please list them in the comments! Cheers to all of you battling this demon, you're going to be ok. <3

I very seriously doubt me drawing and posting some human related art every once in a while will diminish the enormous amount of furry art seen on this site. And hey, if an artist starts drawing more humans than you'd like to see... Feel free to unwatch! My feelings are not hurt if a watcher decides I don't make the kind of art they wish to see anymore. :)
It's always a pleasure to see your artwork pop up in the inbox, but needless to say I always enjoy seeing a Bucky piece pop up too <3 You draw humans and facial shapes so well, as well adding emotion into the pieces that it is an absolute must.
I adore how you draw Bucky - you got him down pat! Gorgeous work as always, and of course, I look forward to seeing more based on one of your comments above ;)

My husband suffers from PTSD brought upon by a military injury.
He definitely has this sort of feeling and it really touches my heart to see someone who is understanding and bringing awareness to veterans and their invisible illness.
Thank you for doing this. It touches my heart because his injuries still affect our family to this day.

You never fail to amaze me! The picture absolutely captures what you intended to transport - I more or less knew what you wrote about it in the description just by looking at it.
I too think it is important to be aware of the problems one can get with him- or herself.
To that I got one resource I can share: www.7cups.com
This site is for people who just need to talk to someone about things that they can't talk to anyone in their surroundings.
It is important to consider that the people you can talk to there are NOT professionals. They are volunteers who get some basic training but they are not there to give advice or replace a real psychological therapy.
