Eternal's smug expression is matched by his pose, though hands behind his back also serves nicely to hide his gestures. Though you could say he's demonstrating his precision with a magically guided feather on a small target like a navel and I suspect if he really wanted to he could demonstrate fine control with multiple feathers, such as a pair to the lupine ears. Really I think Eternal is being quite restrained and even merciful here.
