Bullied and afraid
We remain within
The shadows of fear;
Huddled in trepidation.
Then comes a day
When one person
Steps forward.
No longer caring,
Weary beyond measure,
They cry out;
“ENOUGH!”
And a Hero is born.I wanted to create a sort of modern action hero theme, so I took some qualities from the new Batman soundtrack, along with a bit of HellBoy, then put them together to create something new. I performed all the parts apart from the guitar and drums (see below!) Pad, is also in the forces, so I guess it's a tribute to him and the others that put their life on the lines every day. So lets spread this around!
Thanks to everyone that checks out my music, thanks also to Kor and Dolphinboy for their awesome performances!

That was amazing! Please tell me, how do you compose music like this? What is your process?
I am learning several instruments and taking musical theory classes, and I hope to become a musician/composer in the future. This is the type of music I simply adore. Could you tell me a bit about composing?

I hear the obvious references to the scores from the recent Batman movies...though I'm not familiar enough with Hellboy to hear that one. Decent work, nonetheless--the only thing that didn't sit well with me were the choir hits in the higher register...sounded a bit too obviously fake.
Wow, I definitely can say that you borrowed some elements from Han Zimmer and James Newton Howards, Eptesicus (track which is prominent in the two batman movies). Anyway I really like the subtle main theme coming in as brass and then the sudden introduction of the guitar.
It does have a Movie-like structure to it.
The Main brass characterizes the character the theme is for while the strings/Drum is the streets at night/snow/rain. The introduction of the guitar introduces a bit of chaos to the song, for-say, a fight with a villain that disrupted order. When the chaos ends in more chaos. (the drum finishing off around 2:59) feels like the villain was defeated and the hero (injured) leaves the scene.
It keeps a more dark tone for a hero theme, reminiscent of the Batman Returns versions.
So i have to say props for the well done music.

Hey, Fox! I was just given a college assignment where we had to shoot a short "hero story" as our final project. This song couldn't have come at a better time, but I just wanted to check first.
Since I don't plan on making money with this, are you, Dolphinboy, and Kor-Ryal okay with me using this as the background soundtrack? You'll get credited, and I'll be sure to post the final result here so you can see what I did with it.
If you are, a million thanks. A million thanks anyway for just being the most epic musician on here.

oh my god...i think i just shit myself with the level of awesomness this has achieved. Guitar and Drums are just...well..mind blowing! in all god honesty Mr. Amoore i can firmly say this is probably one of your most amazing works to date, and likewise goes for every other artist who helped him along with this, now i just need to get with Dragoneer to see if we can figure out a rating system, because its works like this that make me think this site needs one. Once again, amazing work all of you, and id fave this 100 times over it i could.
great work everyone did. Foxamoore you are so good at orchestration. It's something I've failed at time and again. Maybe you can help me either via AIM/Yahoo or notes? I think if I just knew how to get started I would do pretty well. my AIM is the same as my FA username and my yahoo is ashton_cn. I always have yahoo loaded but I'm usually invisible. I have a habit of forgetting to load up AIM on a daily basis so you might want to note me first if you want to contact me through that. Anyone else who thinks they can help me is free to contact me too.
Foxamoore, I usually favorite your work because it's all kick ass!!! However I had to reply to this one because... and don't take this as an insult but it has a very Danny Elfman "Batman" and the electric guitar changes it to a "Batman Beyond" feel. This completely kicks ass. Thanks for the great tune.
First off the atmosphere is spot on and the sound is dead on with the feel and atmosphere right off the bat. The theme is very invigorating and the instruments used are nearly etherial in sound and in preformance if not too much on the echoy side which kills the atmosphere a bit in some places as the choir is louder then the guitar and sounds way too flat leaving me to believe you didn't do much to the reverb settings. The sound comming out of my surround sound is pretty good but could have benifited more from a little more work on the bass sounds and more "oomph" to the drums. In execution the sound comes off really well the guitar really gives the track that added epicness only hindered by the choirs at times which kills the track in some parts. Overall the track is well preformed with each instrument properly timed and even the choir fits well this time round and while it is not great sounding in execution the timing was actually on time with the rest of the track and in some parts did an excellent job portraying a live orchestral choir. This score is reletively short in comparison to your other works and while this is still a far cry from your earlier works it no doubt shows some serious time and patience and a lot of work went into this score and that goes for everyone who worked on it. What I DO give major Kudos to is the fact this piece is unlike your other nearly lullaby like works and shows you tried something new this time round which gets an applause from my end.
I give this track 4 stars out of 5 and a standing applause for a well designed if not flawed piece of work from you and your teamates.
Pros-
-Great atmosphere
-Etherial sounding instruments
-Excellent theme chosen
-preformance was excellent
-Everything is properly timed
-Excellent Electric guitar riffs add to the epic feel
-Diffrent then your past preformance material
Cons-
-Too echoy for the most part through out the track
-Drums didn't convey enough bass or pressence soundiing flat
-Choir too loud and no reverb made them sound like they tried too much to fight with the rest of the instruments in the piece leading to a very chaotic sound.
-Piece is too short and should have been a bit more longer
Closing comment-
This score was very balanced in its creation and each instrument fit snugly with one another creating a very intense atmosphere for the most part. The whole track was well preformed and the theme was very intense which is unlike your past works but still the track missed the mark by a point due to the constant flaws that were very present in this track. The reverb could have been toned down on the entire track while the chior lacked any real reverb or volume check making things cut right out when they kicked in. I was dissapointed with the lack of "boom" quality from the drum section as that should have been a thundering part in the track leading on the instruments into phase after phase. Still this was very cool to listen to and even garners a fave from me in the end for excellent sound and atmosphere.
A standing applause to those who devoted their time and effort on this piece as it shows for the most part but still could have used a lot more work and more sound checks next time round.
Good luck to you and your teamates on the next big track when it does appear you can be sure it will be looked at just as this track was.
