a lot of people use this breed to brood pheasants and guineas since Silkie's go broody just by seeing a pile of eggs nearby for a few days (I had 2 go broody while I was at Califur just because no one collected the eggs) they also make great moms.

How can they even see?

they can see down just fine, so they eat and drink and get around, but it is very easy to sneak up on them and pick them up because they cannot see up too good at all
