Now, I have been thinking about the internal chronology of the movie for a bit. Judy's prologue was when she was about 9 and that timeskip happens 15 years later. Assuming that the movie takes place in the 2010s, that would mean the prologue happens in the year 2001 and in the present, Judy is about 23 or 24 years old depending on when's her birthday. It is a little ambiguous on how long it took to finish that Police Academy though. It's possible that we were seeing the tail end of her education at least with that other half spend studying Zootopia's laws and regulations. Not sure about the police education in the States so feel free to correct me if you want. Still, when all's said and done, Judy boarded that train and entered ZPD's Precinct 1 on August 2016 and reconciled with Nick on November that same year, exactly three months later.

But what about Nick? He was specifically stated to be about 32 years old and his flashback happened when he was nine as well, so using similar math, it's possible to conclude that it happened in the year 1993. That also means he started his hustling c. 1996. Not too shabby.

Not sure what Duke of all people did before the movie though...

Duke - we can go anywhere with his past. I like the headcanon by TheSkunkCat - that he tried but failed and than became a small time criminal. That could be another life lesson for Judy - at least a small amount of mammals in Zootopia can´t be anything they want(

He will sell 'Zootropoloink', a movie about a pig that is already a cop (named Hamshank J. Zootropoloink), who's boss is a rabbit. It's 40 minutes long and 20 minutes of that are characters making cop = pig jokes whilst just standing around. The other 20 minutes will be spend trying to chase a mustache twirling villain fox, who walks like Jim Carrey playing Ace Ventura trying to sneak. Except he's really poorly rigged so he just sort of flops and glides around the poorly rendered city as though he was selling Brand X.

It'll be the greatest thing since Ratatoing!

(And no unlike Ratatoing this doesn't exist. But give some dodgy studio that's just someone's poorly plastered basement in Paraguay a few minutes and I'm sure it WILL exist!
