My brother use to do fishing, so for his birthday I made him a tool to sedate fishes. In Germany it is prohibit by law to kill a fish (by stabbing it in the heart with a knife) before it is sedated.
As you can see my lathe looks a bit angry about being part of this.
I used metals that resist the harms of water like brass and stainless steel. The wood is a multiple times oiled Douglas fir.
I really like how oiling wood makes it darker, because dark wood and brass always looks so good.

I know you can buy these for about 8USD from ebay but a handmade gift always got way more personal touch.
