What does he think of snakes?

That's an oddly specific question but I'll honour it! There actually aren't any snakes in the snowy region he lives in but he does come across them in his flights to other places. He's been known to stop in his tracks and landing so he can hunker down in the grass to watch slinking snakes - he thinks they're adorable!

Kinda wish this came out slightly before i did that latest version of the model, but honestly at this point it doesn't matter too much xP

The only real differences i see are the red nails and the tufts of hair on his elbows.

It's really okay though, the model is still fine - if you were following the old ref (which has been out of date since 2014, my bad) then that's probably why. I added his elbow tufts about 2 years ago and as for his claws, well they've usually been coated in nail varnish! But they've been plum/maroon for a long while now. Everything else has been subtle tweaks in his design over time but honestly it doesn't matter! Your model is still definitely "Ryuu" and you did a damn good job on it.

Well the model is nearly identical to the previous full body model i did, just i made very slight adjustments to the topology, and changed the texture up a bit.

Nevertheless, i don't think Ryuu will ever be NOT attractive! x3

Thus the point about his gender being confusing to people is justified! It's an easy mistake to fall for and I actually designed him like that on purpose, I think it adds a lot to his quirky charm ;) I plan to make a comic based on Enigma's first encounter with Ryuu that pokes fun at the whole "Is he a girl?" thing that ends with a "WHOAH OKAY DEFINITELY A GUY" haha

Aw shucks, and you know he loves kissing his admirers. You're safe as long as you can make him snap out of his trance if he starts acting up! Which doesn't happen everytime so you might not need to worry. WHO KNOWS.

He is very, VERY affectionate, perhaps dangerously so. Bless the big ol' love-dragon, he gets so caught up in the moment he's oblivious to how overbearing he can be. Oh, and I don't think he's quite come to terms with how much bigger he is than most his guests...

There's so much more I could write about him and all my characters to be honest but I'd end up writing a book! It does feel good to finally get some decent info on him out there, hopefully clear up any confusion.

Quite a fascinating creature, that Ryuu! Clearly, I didn't know what I was missing out on by being so shy. Now that I've looked into him however, he does seem pretty nice in his own way.

For some reason I've always pictured Ryuu having the voice of "Him" from Powerpuff Girls--that wasn't long before I figured Woopi Goldberg was the intended model voice though.

I can't help but admire Ryuu's magnificent form, his posture glows with Lordly elegance fitting to his title as a Great Wind Dragon. I like to imagine he has a following of disciples, too. He wouldn't want to be lonely without company.

I don't know what Ryuu could expect from me though. Small chubby foxes might not be his thing, but maybe I'm wrong. If I ever pay Ryuu a visit though, my greatest concern is that I don't know whether or not I'll die if he loves me too hard. Well, it's between being melted away by stomach acid and being crushed to death by hugs and kisses... I just hope the chances of death by Ryuu aren't too high. I guess the only use I'd be without perishing is that I can cook and apply his cosmetics for him.

I would hate getting on his bad side considering he's also a storm god though. Maybe he chases his tail furiously when he's mad, and that causes tornadoes. And when he snaps his tail, he conjures lightning. What a terrible sight it would be, to see his shadow from within the clouds of a hurricane! But maybe when he cries with sadness that's why it rains.

Is it okay if I do a quick sketch of Ryuu as a gift? I know it won't come out perfectly--being without a tablet and all--but I think I would enjoy entertaining his vanity for a while. I can send it by E-mail if desired, but if there's another method, I would love to know.

First off I'm gonna say you don't need to draw me anything, while I do appreciate gift offers please don't feel obliged to draw me a pic. I'm not going to say you can't draw Ryuu but really I haven't done anything to deserve it! I can see you clearly like him so you have permission to draw him. As for contacting me I'm famously a pain in the arse when it comes to being able to reach but I'll see what I can do when the time comes.

I laughed at you imaging him sounding like "Him" as I watched Powerpuff Girls a LOT as a kid and I always enjoyed that character...but of course you're right, Ryuu does indeed instead have a sassy Goldberg-esque female voice - which I think suits him perfectly.

He does have a regal air (pun intended...) about him and I think he embraces that given his preened look and confident look. You mentioned disciples, and he does have them in a way! You may have seen them/read of them, he watches over a species called the Yunmue who worship him as their god and he often has a handful of them around in his lair to pamper/serve/humour him, as well as gossip with and just generally have around as company. If he gets too lonely that's usually when the weather will turn grim because he's sad and the villagers think "Hmmm, we should prooooobably go visit him" - he's such a diva!

I'm sure he'd love you to visit, he always enjoys new and interesting subjects coming to visit him (and have his ego stroked). You of course know how infatuated the big dragon usually becomes with these guests too so you know to expect that but as long as you keep him distracted help him look purdy. There WILL be lots of smooching though, that's a given. Even as his creator I can't guarantee how safe a 'date' with Ryuu is as I designed him to be very unpredictable, it all depends on his mood and how strong his primal dragon instincts are. But he is genuinely a lovely affectionate noodle, he just has odd ways of showing it and gets carried away...

He's a very one-of-a-kind dragon! There aren't many dragons out there that are so flamboyant and love sharing that flamboyance! I think that's part of what makes him so lovable. I certainly enjoyed exploring the makeup aesthetic of things after finding this snuggly noodle! He makes the femininity thing very enjoyable; I'm sure that deep down, he's everyone's dragon boyfriend. ❤️
