I think that is cool and cute as I myself play the guitar, drums, piano.
But what my most successful instrument was the Scottish Bagpipes as I played those in the high school marching band for 2 1/2 years all through high school I should say and I am Irish, but I do not play them anymore, sorry to say. The last time I did was in full dress kilt at my mom's funeral and I played Amazing Grace, and I said I would never do them up again, I don't even know why I am writing to tell you this.

This reply is super late due to my busy ass schedule and the fact that I had no idea how to react. My condolences to you. Losing a loved one is always tough. BUT, I doubt your mom would want you to give up your instrument out of the pain of loss. You can always honor her by playing the best you can. *HUGE WAH HUGGLES*
