Ossoona was a Covenant Sangheili title and rank granted to certain individuals within Fleet Security. Unlike most other Covenant rankings, "Ossoona" was a temporary rank bestowed by the Prophets upon specially selected Sangheili warriors. Ossoona's are roughly equivalent to expendable spies or assassins, sent on high-risk missions of critical importance. The term "Ossoona" translates to "Eye of the Prophet" in the Covenant language.
It's been a few years since I made any- well, 'new' Halo characters. So instead of drawing the usual suspects, here's a concept I conceived some 2-3 years back but never really got around to drawing properly.
Dena 'Vroltamee, a Sangheili Assassin bred, conditioned and physically/cybernetically augmented by the San'shyuum (Covenant Prophets) post-Schism, acting as their agent in a number of infiltration and assassination missions before her eventual rebellion and escape from their control.
Coincidentally one of the more recent novels, Shadow of Intent featured a simmillar concept in the form of the Prelate Tem 'Bhetek, but really that just motivated me to get this character drawn. Gave me the impression that I was onto something with this idea, and perhaps fleshing it out a little more was worth doing.
The Cryptum-Inspired Facial markings were inspired by Yboony's makeup work which I couldn't help but pay homage to in this design. I wanted the "fanatic zealotry of the Forerunners" vibe to come across in some way, and the iconography of the Didact just felt like a perfect fit.

Without Armour

Well I'll be the first to admit, there was a bit of Stark influence in the hand section. That and Overwatch were influential in the design. I just wanted a prosthesis that looks distinctly.... "Covenant-ish" without looking cheap or low-tech like the UNSC metal arms in Reach did. But I'm glad you like it.
(Sorry for the late comments, been tending to let stuff build up in my inbox due to distractions)
Glad you like it. The sword is a design I....>.> *achem* ... borrowed from one of Halo 5's big bad enemies
(Nerd rant in 3...2...1...)
This enemy just.... shows up and acts all british and evil, but ultimately has no purpose or reason to exist besides padding out the story so the shitty 'twist' would take longer to happen. So waste of a character ultimately.
SO being the opportunistic scavenger I am.... I thought "Hey. Nice sword. I'll have that off ya." and here we are. Plus yeah, most Sangheili characters are like... "I have a sword!" or if they're REALLY imaginative, they'll go "I have TWO swords!!" and it's so overdone and repetitive... wanted to do something different.
The emblems aren't my own design, sticking to lore on that one. It's a symbol from waaaayy back in the 2009 RTS "Halo Wars", whose sequel is on the horizon. And the Belt, I'll lazily admit is just a slightly different version of Beyra's xD
But the arm was heavily inspired by Symmetra, I'll admit it.... she's my main in Overwatch... They say I can be a real pain in the ass using her.
They're right. ;)
