This image is stunning. I have always found i enjoy the idea of mutated or warped anatomy to create a feeling of nature gone wrong. Misplaced nipples and eyes for one thing, and a wooden mask to disguise who knows what sort of menacing grimace. The ambience of the picture as well, helped along with the dark back drop and the eclipsed planet, it's just dark sci-fi in my eyes at the best. Though i believe the manticore is a mythological critter.
It is a mythological creature, yes. Which makes it pretty much open
source material, and manticores especially, as they were born of many
mouths spreading many alterations of an original description of a tiger.
This is also to accompany a story, as indicated, and part of a larger work
of fiction which could be described as dark sci-fi and mythmaking, sure.
Also, thanks.
