Sketch of page #3. Lots of panels in this one, but I've always been a fan of "non-compressed" comics, i.e. comic that doesn't skip large chunks of time just to save space (and time).

I had a pretty clear idea of the pacing and number of panels in this page, but I gave Karno pretty free hands with everything else. Most of the speech-bubbles are empty because he wanted to get the images right first. Smart.

Only thing we changed was Gustav's speech in the last three panels. I wanted the "that?" to start in the second to last panel and then stretch into the final one.

I was actually very conflicted about Gustav's boots. I had him drawn with boots in the character sketch, but then I got to wondering why someone with hooves would wear boots. But Karno ensured me that such a minor detail would not be too noticed with everything else going on in the comic. We'll see.
