Looks like Monster Kid didn't reckon on the digestion factor of eating human food. Thankfully, there are these clever human inventions that help limit the mess. Also it looks like he didn't account for the fact that human clothes generally tend toward arms.

... that is, well I suppose human diapers wouldn't account for tails, at least for now. I'm sure the soul heart design is completely coincidental!

It's rather that monster food was made entirely of magic and produced no waste product. Coming to the surface and eating human food which digests naturally means there are going to have to be some adjustments to be made.
