That's precisely why I can't pull those off in my own comics. I worry it's going to look terrible and inconsistent.

It's a heavy rain... that don't need to look perfect and super-nice.
In my opinion it looks good and fit well in the pictures.

Yes, every background in the panels on that site looks very similar, but in real life no one can see much around himself in such a rain ^^
You make a good job on that. Don't even dare to think anything other! ;)

This is precicelly the reason I am anxious to finish this arc, so i can switch Draghi's colors. That will make him standout from the background a lot better. And I am also thankfull that this is the last page where they will be in the forest. At least the scenary will be changing starting from the next page.

it's already in the works. THough I have decided to scrap some of the content of this arc to shorten it and make it mroe mamagable ( and to move the story allojng at a better pace. there's still several pages left,from this arc, even with the shortening though... gladly it'll move out of the forest with this commin page, so the backgrounds should become less ugly... hopefully.

I'm sure you will handle it well.

Though going from what you said about him. It is not quite for Jon, but more for himself to get home faster. Though he can not of course allow his Jon to get too wet either. x3;

*thinks* Dang, why do I foresee a comical shake-yourself-dry scene for Draghi where he makes Jon all wet again in the near future? xP

heh, well at this point it would be difficult to get wetter then he already is.

Draghi IS motivated in getting out of the hail, which is hurting him, and , because he sees himself as the dominant one of their group, he is thus responsable for both their safety ( even though Jon is in no danger from the hail. Draghi is also aquetly aware that he has no idea where this shelter is... only Jon knows that. So it's pretty easy an equation for him. Carying Jon solves all their problems. It takes both of them out of the hail faster.

Now THAT is an intelligent dragon, he know's he can run faster. Though...his execution of the method, while well done, would leave me freakin the fuzz out

jon is used to these sort of anticks by now... he grew up with him afterall.

has a sort of specialized food pellets that are about the size of an apple each that, when consumed, will expand to many times their size ( thus providing a filling meal ) and it contains all the necessary ingredients for his healthy development... Jon however has a tendency to overfeed him these, thus his plump shape.
