Omg, crazy gun-nut Ren has another scary, black, baby-killing death machine. #inb4Hoplophobes
It's been a couple months now, thought it was time to make another little addition to my arsenal. Amidst all these rifles, I thought my 1911 was getting a little lonely as a handgun, so I got a 1956 Romanian TTC. Shot it, it's definitely lighter and easier to handle than the 1911, and the kick is nowhere near as rough. But the rear sights are so off, I'd somehow hit the ceiling even if I pointed it at the ground, and the safety is short of needing a mallet to toggle. Sorry for the low quality image, I'll try to replace this with a better one soon.
The real funny story with this is that earlier this week, when I went to go pick it up (note that the ammo and mag I had ordered with it HAD to ship separately), I noticed that my ammo and mag order was unusual; I had a lot more ammo than I had asked for, and one extra mag apart from the one I had ordered. I don't think much of it, and I go to testfire it. After shooting maybe 32 rounds of the 96 that I had, I went home. After I arrive, I get a call from the range, and apparently, MY ammo and mag were still at the range, and I had gotten SOMEONE ELSE'S order of ammo and mags for the same exact kind of gun from the same exact site. So, I go back to the range, and realizing I had actually ordered two 16 round packs of ammo, I had technically shot MY 32 rounds. So, I let them take one mag off me and the remaining 64 rounds and pack it up with the ammo and mag I left at the range. Even to this day, and probably years from now, I'll still be asking myself, "What are the fucking odds?"

You can thank the BATF for that back under Clinton. The Chinese were pumping in cheap firearms and somebody noticed the TTs lack of visible Safety and demanded that they be added by the distributor before sale. Since then all Tokarev pistols must have the added Safety. The first ones by Sarco through Norinco were actually the better added safeties. I've seen some of the more recent Romanian and Yugo imports with utter horrid, cheap-ass plastic safeties.
To locate a TT-33 sans the added POS Safety, you need to find a Korean War or Vietnam bringback from some GI who captured it prior to 1968.
Or like my Soviet Tt-33 1940 make, captured by a German officer who was captured with it by a GI in Europe in 1945.

The safety is non-original to the gun. It was forced into the gun's design simply to meet importation laws that required a manual safety be on the gun. I've got one as well and it's surprisingly accurate, but given that we both have Century Arms imports, I'd say the "variety" between guns is on par with most of what they sell.
I have a 1911 myself :D
