Name: the Park children (none of the 13 survived infancy)
Location: Grafton, VT
Date: 1803
Carver: Moses Wright Jr.
Rebecca Park died in 1803 at age 40, but not before having 15 children by her husband Thomas. 13 died in infancy. One, Thomas Jr., lived to age one. Another, Hezekiah, made it to adulthood.
The Park stone is a double stone with one tympanum dedicated to Rebecca and the other (pictured here) to her kids.
It shows a tree of life with a soul face at the end of each of 13 branches.
The epitaph reads:
Youth behold and shed ateer.
Se fourteen children slumber here.
Se their image how they shine.
Like flowers of a fruitful vine.
