As Manda said, 'little children' and that's the way SHE thinks of Star right now, and that's how Star is reacting to Manda, as a little child.
We know that little children are often hurt much more than adults from punishment. Manda is pushing all of Star's buttons right now.

Manda is okay with Star not using her diapers. That's not the boundary she pushed. Manda SPECIFICALLY gave Star instructions that said she must ASK permission from an adult. She did not. Hence, she broke the rule. This is what Manda is upset about. Manda understands that some people are not ready to use diapers, that's not the issue. The issue is that she gave Star proper instructions, and Star did not follow them.

In my honest opinion, I think there is no right way or wrong way of being an abdl or even a 'generic' abdl.

First of all, if Star wasn't comfortable with doing any of this in the first place.. then she wouldn't have agreed to the rules. I personally think that Manda is actually patient with Star and guiding her in the right way. Star has always wanted to be treated like this and knew that she would be pushed like this. It is just a very big experience for her. Manda knows this. There are people worse.. ALOT worse than Manda when it comes to taking care of ABDLs. So this is considered to be tame compared to other type of caretakers.

IF Star had followed the rule, Manda would have said yes. Most likely, Manda herself would have TAKEN Star to the potty, and 'helped' her, since Star is a 'child' in this setting. That is what parents or caregivers do, they take care of the babies.
Manda realizes the Star may not want to use her diapers, and is not going to force that issue, since it could possibly turn Star off to any more encounters with Manda, Lure or Teca. That is not how you handle a new age player.
But, as seen on this page, Manda IS very much in charge. Had Star simply asked her, Manda or Teca would have taken Star to the potty. Would they have found her panties? Of course. Would it have made any difference to either one of them? I doubt it.

Babies, at an age where they're still diapered because accidents are frequent, very much get taught to ask. They typically do still need help in there. And in this case in particular, asking wouldn't have taken any more effort than she spent asking where it was.

She did agree to it, though, and that's the issue. This is a good lesson for Star. If it was a boundary, she needs to learn to speak up about it being so. That's very important in general. And with how the characters seem so far, I think that if she told them that it turned out to be a boundary, they'd be okay with it.

That all said, it doesn't seem to be a hard boundary/hard limit for Star in this case. She wants to do it, she just can't convince herself to be okay with doing it. It's something that takes time. That said, if Star was left on her own she could easily procrastinate taking that first baby step. (Pun intended.) This is a gentle way of Manda pushing that soft boundary. Some people need that and it seems like Star may be one of them.

I completely agree with you on all points. I am the same way because I have never been comfortable with my little side before til now. It is taking a good while for me to do it. But it is different for me because I always thought that mommies couldn't be diapered like babies needed to be. It was.. a set thing. You know, it's been played up a lot, by the readers, not so much the author, about Star's panties. Here's my take on that. If I was Manda, I wouldn't care. I really wouldn't. Now, it's a fun little plot twist, and in fact, it may come into play later on, I don't know. But, it doesn't matter, really.

Nice page, Star. Couple of comments.
In regards to Bob, in panel one, if he's looking into the soul of the reader, the reader is sitting somewhere a few feet to my right. I know expressions can be done with limited 'telltales', but my impression from this page is that Bob is nearly as subdued as Star is. He's just along for the ride on this one.

Parents or caretakers usually take, or should take, time to make sure the child is feeling loved, even after being called out for being bad. Manda is doing that, in my humble opinion, where she calls Star 'her good kitten', but I wish there could have been room for a separate panel for that so she didn't look so upset. A small smile would have been nice. Page constraints, I understand all of this, so no big deal. Just something I like.
Obviously, Star's expression in panels 3 and 4 is great. She is beginning to understand who is in control, and it's not her. I LOVE her pulling on her braid in panel 3, but she must have been so upset that she completely pulled it out, since it's missing in panel 4! Poor kitten!
So, I think by now we all know that Star will have two more strikes, at some point in the day. What they will be is anyone's guess, of course. I'm more interested in WHEN they will be. Will they be within 30 minutes of getting to the party, or will the final one be before or after the party ends?
Personally, I'm guessing that Star will make one more mistake shortly after getting to the party, and then be told AGAIN about being a good girl, which will get her almost all the way through the party, but before the end of it, in front of everyone (whomever shows up), she'll be getting a butt warming! Manda is not ANGRY at Star. She is 'upset.' She gave Star a rule, just one, and she broke it. If Manda was 'Angry', I'm sure they would be taking Star home, dropping her off, and then heading for the party without her.

As to playacting versus truly upset, there's a fine line here. Obviously, neither Manda nor Star are actual babies, and Manda is truly not Star's caretaker. So, they are in a mental playspace where Star IS little, and Manda IS her caretaker. In that regard, Manda told Star she needed to do something and she didn't. Therefore, within the headspace/scenario, Manda IS truly upset with 'her good kitten', and rightfully so. So, no, it's not play acting within the larger play scenario.

Good lord, this sounds confusing. :/. First there's what we're discussing, and then there's other stuff like, Star LIKING getting spanked. Why be afraid of something you want?

Reading the comic, I wonder what role I would take if I was into this. I think I'd be a dominant submissive. The only reason I wouldn't want to be a true dominant is because though I like being in a leadership role, I wouldn't want to take care or be responsible for another person, even if it's pretend.

I don't like the consider this a 'subset of BDSM.' I don't think that's an accurate description. Being a child, as Sam points out, at least in a good family dynamic, is about having Mom and Dad, or your caregiver making sure that you're taken care of, and that includes setting limits.

One of the things about AB is that our 'age' as a little is much more fluid than a real child, since we ARE adults. We respond to things differently than we would as a real child. Fee, Star's reaction to what Manda told her, in the last panel, obviously shows that Manda isn't anywhere near Star's limits. Star knew she was wrong, intentionally disobeyed an order, and got tagged out for it. About the same thing as when she was late for the meeting at the beginning of the story. After being dismissed, she came out and knew she had screwed up, royally. There was nothing she could do. The same thing applies here. She screwed up, she was wrong, and there's nothing she can do about it.

This exactly. I come from a pethood background myself, and only recently received a new owner after a couple years without one. It is a struggle coming back into any subspace after that length of time, and to initially enter one, even if someone REALLY wants to, can be incredibly difficult, let alone to maintain it for long. Star needs to be aware of, and consciously try to abide by the rules set down by her caretaker, until being "little" is second nature. In my experience any dominant NEEDS to be somewhat tough on new or rusty subs so as to help them fall into the mindset that, frankly, the submissive/little/pet wants. Manda knows this, and I believe Star is smart enough to at least suspect this.

Manda had ONE rule for Star. Star told her that she didn't want to actually USE her diapers, and Manda understood that. So, she told Star that if she had to use the potty, she must ASK for HELP from an adult. Star did not. She made a comment to Bella, and then asked WHERE the bathroom was.
She SHOULD have asked Manda or Teca for help going to the potty. She violated the one and only rule Manda had given her. That's what she did wrong.

Asking for help (beyond taking off mittens or whatnot) would go past her boundary, as she's uncomfortable with someone else doing that for now and wants to take care of it herself.

You are correct, she had to ask Permission, which she did not. By the time I saw that, the Edit window time had elapsed, so I just left it was it was.

I dunno if anyone else is really saying anything about this, but about the font:
While it is indeed a bit more readable this time, I feel it looks more um...out of place in this comic.
Maybe it's because I associated the other font with this comic, but the effect was a little jarring for me when I first opened this. ^^;

Why doesn't Manda just lock the diaper on if she really wants Star to stay in character this badly? I mean Lure has proven that they have those capabilities, and aren't afraid to use them.

Because, it's not about that. If Manda tried to push those limits, Star would be 'I'm outta here, thanks but no thanks!' and back home to Elly and Feef.

This is not about Manda, in the least bit. It's about Star. Star desires something, and Manda is attempting to provide that, to answer that desire. Star wants to be little, and when you have someone who is young, you give them direction and rules. When they break those rules, you correct them.

Star had one rule to follow, JUST ONE, and she broke it. Manda is correcting Star.

Since this is an AB related situation, Star is still an 'Adult', and Manda can be more pronounced in her 'correction' of Star, it gets the point across. It isn't a matter of Manda 'wanting' Star to stay 'in character', but she IS helping Star by reminding her what she is trying to be by being a caregiver to a child who has misbehaved.

I think the previous font was a lot nicer, to be honest. This one is too blocky for the comic and your art style I think, because your art style is so round!

Star did not ask permission from any adult when she went to the loo in Bella's home, she simply stated she needed to go, asked where it was, and went. It was the only rule Star had to follow, and she didn't. So, Baby got a speaking to.

I kinda thought it was obvious that the dreams where folk cant understand her are the memories. Thats not giving away plot thats basically said in a sentence by zeezee during the beach trip. So there are dream dreams and there are memory dreams :)

No thats correct the dreams are the ones she can communicate in. So the very first dream she has isnt a memory because she can communicate to zee and rasile. So that first dream when shes given the apacifier shes in adult mode just and a little kid

I really don't like this part. Where it feels you have to go out of your way not to get punished. It feels it makes it forbidden to ever get enthusiastic or emotional at all since that means you'll likely overlook something. Especially since they don't give out warnings.

I really hate those words because Star wasn't pushing any boundaries or was being a naughty girl. She just was excited and forgot a detail.
