So, I'm releasing the first single from my new, year-in-the-making album "Cutting Edge of Ignorance" this fine weekend! In preparation, I figured it'd be quite good for you to be able to listen to the A-Side of the single before you get a chance to get a hold of it.
The story behind this one is an odd one. As a ruthlessly homosexual furry, banging male furry mascots is one of my top priorities, and one day I came across Germany's very fancy and popular "Schwäbisch Hall" and it's sexy, handsome and adorkable fox mascot. Around about the same time, I also discovered that the Schwäbisch Hall company had published the sheet music to their 1986 jingle on their website (the thing which plays at the end of their adverts. With the help of
Acayl, I transcribed the jingle to a synth in FL Studio.
I was then drawn to the works of Vanilla Fudge and early Deep Purple, the idea of taking a simple, small pop song and building a fucking massive, complex arrangement around said pop song, as well as Emerson, Lake and Palmer's work on "Fanfare for the Common Man". With these ideas in mind, I built this arrangement around the microscopic jingle and built the whole thing out to over 2 minuets. The drum fill near the beginning was harvested from another project I was working on at the time, which didn't turn out as well, but might be worked on again sometime.
The last step of the song was adding audio from a "Schwäbisch Hall" advert to the beginning of the song. This was so that people (most likely folks from Germany) would connect that the song is built the jingle from the advert without having to sorta recall what it sounded like in their head.
But overall, I'm super happy with it. The thumbnail is the artwork as drawn by
KeenyFox which I have been allowed to use for the single.
