This is Jay-Ack, or Jay for short. A member of a species of aliens responsible for supplying abilities to “magical warriors” (think magical girls and sentai heroes mixed together with a little american style task-force sprinkled in)

This race (unfortunately unnamed as of right now) is able to have limited shape-shifting capabilities, though they usually default to their more animal based forms, with their more abstract form being their most powerful in terms of raw energy out-put (though this form is also the hardest to maintain for long periods).

Most of this species vary wildly in appearance and color, the only consistencies being their animalistic motifs and the strange metallic shapes that are affixed a certain distance from their body at all times
