Name: Seán Alan O'Farrell
Age: 19
Gender: FtM
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 120 lbs
Species: Cottontail rabbit
Biographical Data
Seán doesn't like to talk about his past much. Born in the outlaw settlement of Seawash on the northernmost tip of the island of Viridis, he was raised by his father, Liam, who physically abused him until he was old enough to stand up for himself. He finally left home at the age of nineteen to find his way in the world, and to seek out his half-sister Niamh who is the only other family he has left in the world. Elated to find people who actually accepted him for who he is, he settled in the rabbit-controlled city of Oseille and he has eagerly joined in on some of his elder sister's adventures.
Seán is a voracious reader and he has taught himself a degree of spellcraft from some of his large collection of books. He favors fire-based magic over all others, though he will happily learn anything anyone wants to teach him.
Personal Statement
My name is Seán and I, uh, don't really know what you want me to say here. I was born and raised in Seawash on the island of Viridis. It's, well, I suppose some might call it a village but what it really is is nothing more than a collection of shanties and lean-tos and whatever other rough shelters people can build. The people there are outlaws. That is, people who were convicted of some crime and stripped of the protection of the laws. My parents were both criminals, I guess, or they wouldn't have been there, but my mother never treated me with anything but kindness. My father? The less said about him the better. He beat me almost every day and I still carry the scars on my body. That was nothing compared to what he did to others, though. I only hope I can do some good in the world to make up for the harm he has done.
The past doesn't really matter, though. What's important is the future and seeing to it that the people I love are safe and happy.

He's so cute. I love how he has the hamster or whatnot on his head. I must say I rather enjoy the style of eyeglasses most of your characters seem to wear. Most of my characters don't have them though some do use them on occasion. :)
I love the way his personal statement really gives a glimpse into his shy personality. You can see what sort of rabbit he is and it just makes him that much more adorable. I definitely think that perhaps in future installments he might end up learning quite a bit about Lauren and Diana's homelands. :)

Aw, thanks! I've always loved this picture, both for the cute little interaction with the hamster and just for how beautiful Malachyte's art is. This and a little sketch she did of him a little before this piece are what really helped bring him to life. I really like this style of glasses, too. I do have a bad habit of giving my characters glasses, mostly because I find them cute and, in Seán's case, because poor vision seems to run in his family.
I'm really glad you liked the personal statement. It was a lot of fun to write, and it's actually one of the few chances I've had to write anything explicitly from his perspective. His was actually the easiest to do because he's one of those characters who came to me right away. I did try to go a bit easy on the darker side of his history, though, so as not to scare people away. I think he'd enjoy learning more about Lauren's and especially Diana's homes as well. Even if his inexperience with such things would make him look like such a gawking tourist.

It draws attention to his adorable face. ;) The art is lovely, it's such a gorgeous effective technique, and I think this really just helps show his gentle side. ;) I like to use it sometimes for a visual aspect, they do provide a certain look which can quickly establish certain aspects of a character.
I really enjoy how the personal statements really just give us a chance to have the characters describe themselves in their own words, so to speak. I think it adds a nice bit of personalization to each one so they can describe their thoughts to the audience and give you at a glance a view of the character without overloading the reader with details. The darker side of his history will come out later, I'm sure, but it'll be interesting to read about. ;)
