"Unicorn Protection Device": introduced by John "The Gneech" Robey in his comic "Never Never", it was a red rubber ball over a unicorn's horn (a group of faeries had abducted a human child, and realized that they needed to "child-proof the unicorns"). It has since been adopted by Whitepony and the crew over at Cross Time Cafe as a recurring gag.
