Skaven society is a harsh place, where the strong rule over the weak, and the only way to earn promotion is to wait until your superior dies...something their successor has a hand in more often than not.

It's a very male dominated society, with males filling all the warrior roles, and indeed most other roles. Female skaven are generally less common than males, and nearly always far weaker, in both body and spirit. Most of them live short lives as massive breeders, their limbs atrophied and their minds nearly feral.

However, Skaven are often experimenting on things, including each other, and one such experiment resulted in Uberous. It's unclear precisely what the Master Moulder was attempting, but the result was a breeder growing huge to the limits of her capacity and beyond. When it was all over, only Uberous survived, a young ratling of superior size, strength, and cunning.

She grew quickly and survived the dangerous and brief childhood of the Skaven and continued to develop into a powerful warrior, fighting her way upwards, as was the Skaven way. Reaching adulthood, she stood tall over most clanrats, rivaling the fearsome Stormvermin.

Her strength kept most other skaven from questioning her gender. Those that have the temerity to suggest she does not belong as a chieftain soon discover just what she's capable of.

Of course, she does still have strong urges, and the position of power to sate them. But she does not let a growing litter slow her down. To take anything approaching maternity leave would result in slavery or death, and so she maintains her activates regardless of whether she is pregnant or not.

Her litters tend to be smaller in number than other breeders, but with a tendency toward larger stature. Many have grown into fine warriors that join her ranks.
