Of the two mountains that make up the heart of the city, the innermost and outermost layers are the most heavily calcified by the unidentified species of giant rockworm that altered them for its own purposes (theorized to have been some form of chrysalis and/or breeding chambers). The smooth but extremely firm nature of the calcified strata makes for sturdy balconies, which are common on the upper floors.

Actually the more I think about it maybe she doesn't fit me that much since she doesn't like the whole TFTG scenario. I mean I wouldn't necessarily want to become a scav... but then again I'm not gonna knock it till I try it. And especially not gonna knock the female part, especially a scav one since they at least have more push in their society than in a human one (at least going by the technological era this is taking place in).
ahh, Kass's military background is starting to show through... that does make me wonder though, how effect would it be to the enclave if Kass taught them his old countries military tactics? Granted I'm sure something things wouldn't work since it was made for a different species and all but still.
HUZZAH! After being outside working on a rusted up car for 2 hours in the Florida Sun this is the absolute best thing to return to! Wonderful timing my friend! And I'm glad to see Lopin again! lol especially since he hasn't been horrifically killed by Kaz, that's always a plus!! lol I can't help but imagine Kaz all but cutting Lopin off almost in reflex and protest of the "Lady" comment rather than out of any sort of pride regarding being an Officer! Regardless I look forward to seeing how this conversation develops and just how exactly Lopin got his mitts on that little mystical do-dad and if he knows anything more about its origins!!
Oh I can imagine! lol and I know his incredibly stylish hat won't be able to protect him or pacify Kaz's wrath forever! That's probably the only reason why she's not killed him in the first place, because deep down she's not yet ready to rob the world of such a fashion forward creature!
Yay, the fancy lad has a new fancy hat :) Lopin is adorable, you just want to hug him and pet him and take ever good care of the little fella. Especially after his little story. I also love how Lopin just takes the wind right out of Kass' sails in those panels. And that last line. Can't come off as being too soft, gotta retain some dignity after all. Though hearing a Yinglet pronounce they will destroy you must be an odd thing. On the one hand its gotta be pretty funny. Yet on the other there are a lot of Yinglets, so there maybe some mob action in your future.
Just imagining Kass x Lopin younglets scampering around.

Oh no!
I've been reading this from the beginning for the last 4 hours and it abruptly stopped!
Well, you've hooked me. I love the characters and learning about all these pieces of the big lore puzzle along the way.
I've seen it done wrong many times before where people will either pile on too much at once or not have any depth at all, but you introduce back story and facts gradually and subtly enough that it can be taken in and allowed to mentally digest, and allow the viewer to really get pulled into the world and want to know more about it, maybe even be a part of it.
Getting this far along in a comic project is no small feat, I only wish I had that motivation!

Well thanks! I think/hope I've just read enough books and comics to have developed a good feeling for when something's too slow or rushed, deep or sparse.
And honestly, it's more about discipline than motivation, and/or just forcing yourself to keep up a habit. Motivation is awesome when it's there, but it's also unpredictable, so you can't always rely on it.

Yes, I have been eagerly awaiting for an explanation from Lopin. I've been worried that he might get inexplicably killed since yinglets are prone to accidents. Plus, in typical movie fashion, the guy who holds important, valuable information that could provide a clue or unravel a conspiracy usually dies before he can explain anything.
