I was researching historical Viking outfits and came across a guy dressed in leather armor coat and other clothing that looked quite interesting. I sounded
satyq out on the idea of doing an illo of Viking Nick (NO silly bull horns on his helmet!!) carrying off Lady Judy to his homeland and this is what came to be.
satyq was nice enough to include Nick's bit of song and Judy's protests in the illo as well. Judy's dress is, as best I know, period correct, as well.
My thanks to
satyq for the very nicely detail work and the added dialog.

It's kinda ironic how the rest of Europe called them "barbarians", considering the fact that viking culture was one of the first openly democratic civilizations (Alting, hello?). Yes, they were fierce, belic and stubborn... like all people in the ancient world (Lol). However, we easily forget vikings were also excellent sailors, hunters, blacksmiths, merchants AND ARTISTS. Pagans? That's just a compliment :)
