Feeling pensive on Mothers Day, and wanting to draw something nice ya know. I tried to draw something my mother would like... though this isn't exactly for her, just something I came up with while thinking of her. Blue is her favorite color, I got my day dreaming ways from her, and I always think of poplars when I picture her childhood, and the place in E. Texas where she lives with the rest of my family is full of daffodils.

Mom always thought my cartoon animals were neat, and also told me again and again that I was a better artist than her which is sooo far from true it isn't even funny.
My mother has always pursued watercolor, and folk arts as a hobby between taking care of us kids and I believe that if she hadn't had me she would have made an amazing professional artist... she can do things with a paintbrush that still blow my mind to this day.
Also it's silly but I was always impressed that she could paint without getting a single drop anywhere but on the canvas where as I can't even draw with markers without staining everything within 10 ft of me. It's awful.
