As you may know I am a sucker for magic portals ripping you out of your world into another and changing you to fit that new world. And I guess this is kind of a golden oldie but a goodie all the same. A Young aspireing wizard has summoned my soul/spirit for his familiar spell. A dragon familiar is very rare and is a good and telling sign of the potential of the caster. But it is not without its difficulties. As Dragons themselves are magical beings of magnificent talent and see the familial dragon form as a mockery of what it is to be a dragon. And so Dragon familiars are little respected and can be made to feel quite lonley creatures, save for the company of their Masters. luckily for the young man that has summoned me 24 human years means very little in Dragon years and I have arrived to him in the very early cycle of my growth, complimenting his age quite nicely.
These are definatly going to be characters that i will build on when I can. As I am now super in love with the idea of being this not so 'real' dragon xDD

Reminds me of what is happening in a Pathfinder game with a character based upon my dragon self. My character pretended to be the rat folk's mount and animal companion so the city toll collector did not charge extra or ask too many questions. Plus, with the way the toll collector reacted to the gnomish sorcerer and his spectral mount I believe finding out that my character can talk would had caused him to faint, or worse. It was kind of nice not needing to explain and just listen to what was going on around my character.
Thank you :) and yes I do have acsess to magic however, as a familiar it is limited to my master's capabilities and I am by no means compelled to use it. Unless it is in aid of him. I am kind of the embodiment and extension of his power and will. Which is why it is pretty impressive that I am a dragon because it means he is quite powerful. But it means i will never be as powerful as a true dragon.
I like the sequence to, but seeing the images you sketched out of the two next, I got the impression they were more like siblings or friends then a stranger transformed into his familiar. The idea that the dragon was still human is cool. It might make a compelling pair of characters if it was someone that had been close to him before becoming a dragon.
Whilst I agree that in making the dragon someone scizwig knew before hand certainly offers an extra level to their relationship there are reasons why I've not gone with that angle. Firstly I feel that by giving them an established relationship before they story begins- which would start at the point of the transformation. The reasons and motivations change drastically. If they were brothers why would Scizwig doom them to a life of a familiar- was it a mistake and if so a large focus of the story would be spent trying to fix it. Whilst it would make it easier to be friends right off the bat, it could also cause a small disjoint between the audience and the character or world because the characters are already apart of the world and will have already experienced a small bit of it so any exposition is souly for the benifit of the audience and not so much the characters (I'm kind of thinking in terms of writing their story too...) which is fine- I think of it as the jack and daxter dynamic.
By going with the stranger to a new world- the world is new for them as well as the audience which means they can learn together and I feel there is a better contention there- but indeed I am sacrificeing an indearing relationship right off the bat so instead one can grow. And In my personal experience it is very easy to make friends quickly when you are stuck with someone and it is only later that you find out reasons why you don't like a person XD I mean the opposite of that can be true. They are just fast friends. And in regards to wanting to turn back. Because it is a stranger that has been changed scizwig's obligation to do so can waver/ be non existent aside from initial guilt and the stranger can eventually grow into the new form and forget about wanting to turn back but would use it as motivation to stick with scizwig to start with... though I guess that's a fine line and could go the same way if he had known the person he was transforming- I just feel like scizwig would not knowingly make someone close to him a familiar. He is super loving and a little bit silly but like I said he could not doom them to the life of a familiar.
Any way I hope I've not been too convoluted in explaining myself.
