the distortion is the chaos that is within this pool, the colors of light are representing Tsura's healing, and calming abilities, trying to tame the pool.
Tsura's coloration suggests she is worried, because she cares very much for her human, and seeing her humans thoughts and her mind in a state of worry and chaos, makes her uneasy. As her humans guardian angel, its Tsura's duty to keep her human safe.
