Sorry for the huge file...but it's a huge file!
This was done for
takaza and
duncanhusky.
I could write a ten page essay detailing everything I see wrong with it...but it's done after countless hours, repainting Duncan twice, a few painter crashes, and more caffeine than I should like to admit to.
Created in Corel Painter 10 using Oil Pastels, Detail Airbrush, various watercolor diffuses and a few other brushes.
Total size: 18 by 13.7 inches at 300 dpi
At the time of uploading I am closed for work but will open again someday. If you are interested in a piece of this caliber, take note! It's a four digit pricetag

... now where to begin?... okay, let's make this just simple then.
1: .... terribly awesome work there.... the coloration looks simply amazing like an oilpainting.
2: What mistakes? Anatomical? Colorwise? Because they look so unbelievably sweet? I see no errors in either.
3: As a matter of fact it strongly reminds me of my own fursona and a very good friend of mine who I will one day hold like this. So you simply put colored shape to my imagination. <3
If FA would ask for points I'd rate you twice with 100%, but as it is now I just can tell you this: I'd give you double the points for the maximum allowed points.
Believe it, matey.

I think what fascinates me most about this piece is the overwhelmingly thorough attention to detail-- WITHOUT the detail dominating the entire piece! Every section of moss, leaf, and fur looks exactly like the substance it's supposed to be, and yet it's just enough texture to look realistic and amazing, not overdone and artificial. Nice lighting, especially with the sunlight filtering in from the background. Lovely work!
Everything looks so fluffy and soft and wonderful... this is the peak of realism in "furry art". I've admired you since the first time I saw your art on a certain old Ecco website many moons ago, but it seems like every time I see a piece by you, your skill has multiplied tenfold from the last one. The lighting, poses, and composition are all brilliant. Your stuff is really amazing. <3
There goes my hope of affording to commission you for the finish up of Bloodi... well, at least as long as I have no job, that is. ;_;
There are pieces sometimes that catch my attention and my sympathy immediately and this is one such picture. I think I am especially in love with the atmosphere, their faces and the light in the background.

It's two gigs/ My machine did a pretty good job because I kept the layers down...no more than 4 at any time, usually with a watercolor layer. Most of the way through this was only 2 layers...background, dogs, and the hidden sketch layer. Makes my poor machine much much happier.
Wow! It's kind of amazing to think that there weren't a billion layers involved - you've heard this a billion times already but holy crap you are talented!
Makes me feel a little better, though, I've only got two gigs myself, and if keeping the layers down is what helps keep my glorified abacus from choking on something this size, then I guess that's what I'll have to do ^__^;

I have never seen a more beautiful picture. I simply can not describe how much I love this picture. The details are mind blowing. All I have to say is I would love to be like Blue-s Clues and "skadoo" right into this picture! Although how it looks, I feel as if i can just put my hand through the computer screen!
It is SO SO SO worth the four digit pricetag.

I can't even think of anything that's wrong with it! The colours are amasing, the detail is perfect, the charcters are so cute and the moss on the trees looks real! 10 page essay! You've got to be kidding me even if I look long and hard I can't see a single fault. I think you've done a magnificent job Vantid.
This painting is incredible, the amount of detail you put into this piece is outstanding!
If only I had half the skill that you do in order to paint like this...and the patience of course.
I have corel painter 10 and for years..I still can't understand it. It pleases me so to see an artist use that program so well. Wonderful work!!

Oh, Vantid, this is superb! The amount of detail seems to be greater than if it was a photograph. It's surely worth its price, it's only the water that looks a bit strange to me, but that might just be my opinion. What I think is absolutely amazing is how you made the ground look so leaf-covered, did you paint all those leafs or is it a trick of the eye, so that certain brush strokes make up the texture? Don't know if I can explain what I mean ^^"" - anyways: gorgeous!
I'm about to say something that you have already heard a million times, but it's true... Wow! Amazing! Absolutely gorgeous!
This scene is similar to a typical night at my home, except that I have two dogs who are upside-down and in my lap and on my chest. Well, not right now anyway. I couldn't possibly type this if they were. :)

Sorry for such a late comment, I am still catching up with FA after being in Alaska ofr 5 months. I could not even begin to imagine the response you would have had if this was at your table at RF.
All I can do is echo what everyone else here as already said. It is a stunning work, warts (wherever they may be) and all. }:=)
