Very basic reference that I whipped up because I didn't have one. I'm not happy with it, so don't take the funky and horrible mechanical bits as gospel! Just meant to give a feel of what its general form is. And yes the flats of the blade can be used as a shield in a pinch.

In the world of the Furry Federation, this weapon (or really, one like it but much prettier) has been used by Genius, and later by Izixs. The beauty of the mechanical blade is that its versatility comes apparant when the various switches, nobs, and levers are used to ratched gears, release springs, or unlock sections of the blades, causing the blades to move, rotate, split, slam together, or even to look like modern art! Each configuration can be used to great effect by a master. The only down side is that if the blade is not taken care of that more than a couple battles or hard blows can yield almost all its delicate machinery useless.
