A perversion of alchemy and sciences mixed with necromancy. This creature was grown from a sample of another mysterious being. But the mad sorceror that grew him added his own corrupt essence to the mix, resulting in Shard, and his own demise.

Shards first act was to absorb his creator simply because he was hungy.
