Commission - The Garden of Mephistopholies
Join us in our garden, won't you?
Another commission for Aeto of his demonic pantheon - this time of Mephistopholies, Lord of Blight and Baron of Treachery. A recurring theme amongst his demons is a sort of perversion of human form, where some aspect can appear human despite its monstrous nature - for a demon of treachery and deception, I thought making the human aspect a literal anglerfish-like lure with which it can deal with mortals seemed appropriate, with the actual physical form being more plant-like than bestial, which in turn worked well for the blight aspect. Something else that had been previously unclear in his mythology is that the demons are capable of manifesting multiple physical forms in the mortal world, and while experimenting with various ideas for Mephisto's form, I ended up deciding, "Hey, why not a whole garden of Mephistos?"
In the end, we have a horrific take on what should have been a very pleasant evening garden dinner party with a lovely classy couple ;) Bonus points if you spotted the demon-lure-fetus being formed in the background :b
