Makes since a species with limited means of manipulation in a world made for those with more capabilities would make use of others to help. I like how your world works and is connected. One species affects another and society is created. I am now curious about Braxxids, what does their music sound like? What is the meaning behind those facial markings, do they signify status or rank, or simply something their owner likes? So even Braxxids can fall for none Braxxids. Shall we see a pairing much like the Dancer and her Yinglet musician? How does Braxxid society feel about such feelings? How common is it, rare or more often than one would think?
Man, so many things I'd like to answer there, but so little I can say without spoiling stuff.
I will say that most baxxid/human relationships are non-romantic and based largely in what they can offer each other, but there's always a percentage of any population that will develop weird attractions to things that aren't what they are.

I hope they get social training that gives the instruction: "Our shells protect us from injury due to impact. Other species lack this. What might feel like an annoying or distracting 'thunks' to us could result in broken bones or death to others. Ensure you temper your physical interactions."
It seems like no matter what race you can come up with someone is going to find it adorable. Whether it's through genuine belief or biased opinion. Oddly, no one has found any of the human characters to be adorable…
Oh wait! I'm on a furry website; that explains it, and here I was thinking the blonde seamstress was cute. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

I do wonder, with simple prosthetics even existing in the middle ages (e.g. Götz von Berlichingen's iron hand), are there Baxxids that have additional metallic "fingers" (easiest in a harness that is strapped onto the claw and held in place by specially carved nooks and protusions on the carapace, in turn serving as a mounting platform for plates that serve as pincers and hooks that serve as thumbs)?
