I dunno, if it was an accident, they could have reduced the sentence to banishment. They figure she never meant for it to happen, it just did. But all the same, for losing control of such power she would still need to be punished, as it would be an irresponsible act that caused something pretty terrible.

bare in mind him and the lovely jackal were childhood jackasses to lil ol fen my guess he's the jackiest of the two asses and gets his jovals over playing the "nahnah you cant catch me" bit far far too often so when baron (i think thats the name of the jackal i forget) wanted to warm up and show fen she's not alone piris would rather watch the world burn so it'll roast his balls while he spanks one out personally death is far too kind for him he honestly needs a good dry asshumping by a certain wolftaur

Well, that's one way to commit suicide. Even if he doesn't end up dead he's more than earned a few (dozen) shattered bones at this point. I regret only that he's not likely to be the only casualty here, given how pissed off she is and how her control is likely to be all but non-existent.

I am also disappointed in how meek Baren's response is. The dude just trash-talked her, made a joke at the expense of her *recently deceased adopted mother* and has been deliberately inciting this confrontation from the get-go with someone whom he seems to have taken a liking to, based on last night and the flower and all. He SHOULD be running his sorry ass out of the building through the ground, or have thrown him out long before this point, but all he seems to have for him right now is mildly harsh language. He clearly hasn't chosen good friends.
Looks like Fen is about to take care of the situation for him, at her own expense... I don't even really blame Fen. I blame Baren almost as much as Piris, honestly.

What I'm pretty sure I'm seeing is that Fen isn't angry at Baren anymore. That's not to say they don't have a stern talk to engage in later, but Piris defused the conflict he started between them and created a whole new one that's blocking out her perception and is fully directed at him.
He's a jerk, but his jerkery may have saved Fen's potential relationship with Baren.... unless Baren gets caught in the crossfire or is lumped in as an enemy.

Good story making! I like how you set up the audience to be very emphatic towards Fen and then introduced her antagonist. I'm going to guess this is the first true showing of her powers (in her life, obvious we as the readers have seen more). I'm excited to see how her powers manifest when she's in a blind rage.

huh this brings up a few questions now. going back to that we was told before that she originally wasn't suppose to been able to connect to the Hadalen and the dragon saying that her magic was different then the norm.. make me wonder what the dad was doing.. and perhaps I am thinking to forward but now I am thinking her access is more of a forced entry then a natural connection. Though again we know little about the father other then what was told in chapter 2 but even then we weren't given a name till chapter 4 and we find out there another ball in play like the man in the recording who is here now in relation to everyone else? though her name state she may be a child of the void what would have made her dad then speaking of would that make dragons children of the elements thus allowing those that can't have a natural connection to the realm to be connect, if this is the case?! *scrambling to connect dots* arrgh!

She was this angry when she was a kid, but nobody around had a link to Hadalen power. From the look of Baren's glowing eyes before, he might. Combine that with the fact that he's got his hands on her and they slept together... it seems a valid hypothesis.

And this is where blind rage takes over. And blind rage means collateral damage. In this case, all that and more than a barrel of blood. Poor Baren is in-between her and her trigger, so he's potentially in for a world of pain just by being right there in immediate reach. And that building is probably not going to be standing much longer either.

I've got to say, the writing in this arc is really good. It's been good before, but this one really hits the nerves and the characters feel much more fleshed out and "real." The story also feels "deep" in that there are multiple layers at work in terms of situation and emotions.

Now it takes me longer to read a page because I keep searching for the hidden things, telltale giveaways, or just noticing little Easter eggs here and there. Thank you. It's been a lot of fun.

I don't think the trigger warning is necessary. That last panel, coupled with lines from the previous pages, pretty much tells us what's about to happen. I've been expecting blood and murder for a while now.
But then again... some people are just so dense they need that trigger warning. Or they're just naive and want to believe nothing happens. I don't blame the latter. The former need a smack upside the head. =P

Well, if the Hadalen monster in the cave revealed legitimate information, then she kills her friends. So Piris would have to become a friend before she kills him, if that were any indication. Though that doesn't necessarily mean she hasn't killed people who aren't her friends... so I guess there's room for the possibility.
Come to think of it, that conversation might also mean Baren never recovers from this and Fen holds a grudge. Maybe I've been giving him too much credit.

If you're saying that's the worst thing that could have been said and that he could only have achieved that by accident ("couldn't have ____ if they tried") thereby not being able to do it again, then the observation that he was actually trying to do something and succeeded goes against the notion that he couldn't have said something worse if he'd tried.
It comes down to whether you mean it was a fluke or if you mean he can't possibly top himself. In the sense of the latter, we don't actually know. He already topped his previous jeering, he might be able to do it again. What we do know is he tried to up himself and succeeded.
