I imagine the sheep that get their tails docked have it done a lot like circumcision, for traditional reasons or religious ones. (Praying to the sheepdog gods or something.)

I think a lot of people draw sheep with docked tails to put more of an emphasis on their ass tbh :s but the religious thing like circumcision is a good concept! I have an ear tag on mine but it's because she chose to put it in like an earring, more so as satire LOL

True. I mean, they kinda look like Corgi butts with the tail docked.
The ear tag thing is fun. I thought about maybe putting one on Dandelion, but thought maybe instead I might get a picture of her done with a spray-painted flower on her body somewhere or something, since that is a traditional way to mark sheep where I am from. She can wash it off, change it, whatever!
