I just got back from visiting my sister's family, which includes one eight-year-old and every kids' movie known to man, so this reminds me of the Homeward Bound series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index......?curid=1212256 ), which gave us the immortal line "Cats rule, dogs drool."
On a slightly more serious note, this is very well done, and Kace is one of my favorite character designs.
