Rhodam was the first thing to emerge from the molten world of Purgos. A planet of metal floating in oceans of magma. Nothing organic exists there, all life being metal-based. Rhodam, being a primordial of metal and fire is the most powerful creature in the realm and protects it's inhabitants, at a cost. The lesser beings of Purgos worship Rhodam and offer him forged metal-works to devour or enormous slabs of exotic metals from other realms to add to his massive form.

Rhodam judges those that break his laws harshly. He either consumes them, or throws them into the molten sea to rejoin the molten soup that they all emerged from. Only Rhodam's body is suited for returning to the magma at his leisure without fear of melting.

Heroes and sages from other worlds have journeyed to Purgos seeking Rhodam. They brave the toxic atmosphere and struggle to reach his lair through the deadly heat. Should they arrive at his cove in the Magma Sea Cave, he will listen to their tales, and accept their gifts. If he finds them worthy, he will give them shards of his body.

These shards can be forged only by those chosen by Rhodam, and each of these shards has become a weapon worthy of it's own legend, a slayer of great evils. Rhodam is harsh, but upholds righteousness with the utmost dedication to the good of his, and all peoples. Should anyone abuse his gifts, he will take wing to whichever realm they hail from and enact justice himself.
