Erin is one of my older characters and recently she'd undergone more or less a total redesign of late. She went from a shapeshifter into what you see now. While she still has the insect theme, that theme comes from her bio-organic suit that was grafted onto her. We see her now having her helmet lowered onto her, the only part that can be removed.
Her powers include such things as a toughened skin, multiple arms, flight, a poisonous stinger, and a full sensory suite, among others.

Ah, so the biosuit is now a full part of her body? Must be awkward for her now to have 4 arms, as well as an abdomen on her rear. One may wonder how her friends reacted to her new looks.

She can remove it, yeah. Least, in most realities. As for what her friends think well... Being a superhero has its perks and downsides. Namely, not telling your friends. And yeah, multiple arms were hard to get used to at first, but it was the wings that were the hardest to learn.
