This took a lot of the enthusiasm out of the party. Asheru , especially felt sad. For her, It felt that now she was looking back towards the spirits that had been spying on her. Well, maybe those who destroyed the City gathered the population and beheaded them, piling up the heads as a warning of some sort. the bones of the bodies remains may still be somewhere outside the city. The Mongols used such tactics. For example when they conquered and annihilated Bagdad in 1258.
Maybe somebody did not like the idea of Humans and Lupines actually living peacefully together and even sharing Rule equally. Like in the images yet to come. I mean, there were pieces of wallpaintings destroyed that suggested that a Human and a Lupine Leader ruled the City together.
