a long time ago, I wrote up a COMPLETE scifi novel with an anthro cast of ALL species. these works are on very worn out old school notebooks.
the gist of the story is this (with advance apologies to any Asian furs)

in the early 21st century, China suprised the living bleep out of everybody by getting a completed Space Station up PERMANENTLY in orbit. despite protestations of peace, it was promptly used to keep tabs on China's "rebellious" zones, especially after a really "conserviative" communist government got in (yes, I know, oxymoron). unfortunately, while supressing a flareup in Tibet, a totally conventional warhead missle (nukes were to expensive for the precious station), went of course, and struck a former soviet republic in JUST the right spot (i haven't decided where, yet, but it will probably be in one of the "stanz" cosmonaut facilities). ancient computers took over, and you can guess the rest.

a century after, the combination of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical weapons turned into a gigantic mutagen. since they were rigged more for Humans, the human race literally MELTED themselves off the face of the earth, taking any primates in the major hit areas WITH them. a sprinkling of Great Apes (those still in their original habitat), Prosimians (lemurs, etc) and some monor monkeys DID survive...but something happened to spread the killer around, and even humans in rural zones far away from the blasts dissolved. imagine Hulked out Ebola with the capacity to produce Hydrochloric acid!

this is the bridge design for the Mammal class ships (there are 7 starship classes in total) as you can see, the duty stations have NO chairs (only the Captian gets that privelage)

the ship has a 'british Isles" gag written into it. the Captian's "yeoman" is a (wait for it) Welsh Rabbit!
